"Light, both natural and artificial, and the resulting shadows are the things that constantly inspire my imagination; light is my true subject"A dedicated and prolific artist who participated in over seventy shows, Kyee Myint Saw was a faculty member of the Yangon Arts and Science University and Institute of Economics before his retirement.

His paintings are alive with mobility and sparkle with the various hues of typical Myanmar colours under the tropical sun. His preferred subject is the market, at night, or in the blaze of the early morning, which he has painted for ten years. The friendliness of the Myanmar people is what makes the country great and he has deftly caught the bustling mood of the market scenes. In his famous night scene series, there is an overall sense of exuberance tempered with the hidden depths of loneliness of each person.

His talent is to catch the light and the shadows from the sun or from the blazing lights of a rainy night. The colours of the morning market under the lively sun add a touch of excitement to his painting while the cooler shadows give the feeling of ease.
