Htein Lin solo show in southern France - opening was on April 10 , runned through May 28.
We traveled with Htein Lin to L'Isle Sur La Sorgue, a beautiful town near Avignon in the south of France for his one-man show in the gallery at La Maison Sur La Sorgue.
He showed his powerful "Recycled" series - referring both to himself and to the cardboard medium he has chosen for these works. Other works showed his affinity with fabric and the domestic art of sewing, including two oversize prison shirts, emblazoned with paintings of prison life.
Htein Lin's exhibition was part of "Myanmar Rising" - a six months celebration of Myanmar's visual arts in La Maison Sur La Sorgue - which included another solo exhibition (Khin Zaw Latt), a group show of six emerging artists and an exhibitition of photographic works of Soe Zeya Tun.
