Artists

Born in Taungup Township, Rakhine State, in 1982 to U San Aye and Daw Tin Myint Yee.

Began studying painting under Ko Hlaing Oo, Ko Than Maung, and Ko Taing Aye at Yatha Yinpyin Painting Activities from 1996 to 1997.

Continued learning painting from Ko Aung Naing from 1998 to 1999.

Participated in the first group exhibition in 2002 at the Traditional Art Gallery, Bogyoke Market, Yangon, alongside Bedalan (Mawlamyaing Painters).

Published first poem in 2003 in Mawlamyaing Magazine.

Continued studying oil painting with U Zaw Win (Bagyi Ba Yai Nyo) after the 2002 group show.

Worked as a painter with Ba Yai Nyo and Bagyi Min San Shar before moving to Yangon in 2006.

Focused on painting and writing poetry in Yangon from 2006 to 2007.

Collaborated with Aung Naing Win and Win Kyaw Htet, continuing to participate in numerous art group shows.

Studied contemporary art, and visited Newzero Art Space with the help of writer Thwe Sagain, exploring performance and installation art.

Co-founded the Frameless group with Bagyi K Moe Ko, Ko Hla Htun (Bagan), Ko Poe D Lwon, and Ko Myint Mauk, exhibiting art together.
