River Gallery has hosted Than Kyaw Htay's latest solo exhibition, featuring another chapter in his "Silent" series. "Silent Steps" focuses again on his native Rakhine, re-visiting favourite themes of collective movement; voices unheard; and uncomplaining toil.
Opening party was held on Saturday 15th with the intention of letting visitors to engage with the deeper meaning behind the strong aesthetic appeal of the artworks.
One of Myanmar's most well known painters, Than Kyaw Htay is also a talented film maker, thus, we screened his award-winning short film at 5.30 on the evening of the exhibition.
Here is the e- catalogue where you can see all the works in "Silent Steps" series.
With best wishes,
Gill and the River Gallery gang
